Mom Journal: Little Bromance

by Cat on April 29, 2011

It’s the end of the week and what feels like the end of an era…  My ‘Zilla and Hayden have shared a nanny since they were six months.  They learned tummy time, how to pull up, walk and debut their first words together.  Remember the whole “twin talk” sensation with the McEntee boys on You Tube and GMA?  ‘Zilla and Hayden had something akin to that. A strange head tilt followed with spirited cockatoo cries. Yes, they definitely fought and cried over keys and anything electronic, but theirs was a bromance through and through.  With Hayden enrolling in nursery school, this happened to be their last week.  I think we all cried a bit  and felt guilt ridden that they didn’t know it would be the last time they’d get to routinely hold hands to the playground or share a meal together. Our nanny even broke down at the end of the day telling how when she put ‘Zilla to nap he said, “no more Hayden, no more Hayden.”  Oh sigh…such sweet and sorrowful parting.  Here’s to little bromances and a Happy Friday and weekend!

Oh! That’s so sad! These moments really toughen us up to life’s realities. It’s so hard knowing that you’ll be there to watch them go through things you wish they never had to! My son’s friend moved away and he asks about her every day 🙁
