I was leafing through this month’s issue of Elle Decor and they were doing a feature on “luxury” by today’s standards. In today’s world what would you qualify as luxury? I can tell you now that as a mom, T-I-M-E is the ultimate luxury. An extra lazy Saturday morning with Zilla. Being able to have a bite alone, even if it’s in my car parked up on the hill. Even having the time to read magazines (something I took for granted pre-mom) is not to be overlooked. The issue emphasized the relativity of luxury. Designers in it stressed quality and design of the product over brand recognition or square footage. Here are a few luxury wishlist items of mine:
A lifetime supply of Jacques Genin caramels. Hands down, his signature passion fruit caramel was the most amazing caramel I have ever tasted.
A lifetime membership to the California Academy of Sciences. I don’t know why I waited this long to take Zilla. Wait…maybe because of the $30 per person price? We played with butterflies, ran up and down the walkways spotting manta rays and anemones… Membership here is worth the splurge.
Goyard Bag. The only North American location is here in San Francisco. My handprints have their own place on their windows each time I pass by the boutique.
Madagascar wallpaper by Eskayel. Ethereal, environmentally responsible wall coverings that can enlighten your day.
Kaylon Echo toddler bed. Strong, versatile and quality built.
