Hope everyone had a great weekend! I’m back today with featured Designing Mom Nicole Frubusch of Nixie Clothing. Her clothing line is wonderfully vintage chic and pastoral looking and I am loving her use of an earthy palette. Kanako at the studio had a chance to ask her about her line and inspiration…
Tell us about your clothing line
I only use natural and recycled/vintage fabrics from cottons to wool and silk. Nothing is re-dyed and the designs keep the movement ability of the children in mind. All designs get the go ahead from my daughters.. if they say no they won’t be used.
Where does your inspiration come from?
The inspiration come from different sources and changes from collection to collection. I am inspired from nature and my daughters. In the last Collection I was looking at arid deserts and the transformation they undertake after the rain falls, with blankets of flowers and colors.
What music do you play when you design?
I like silence when I design as I am married to a drummer!
Do current trends affect your creative process?
No… I believe it is important to follow one’s ideas to create something individual.
