Being eclectic pays off… And that’s just what Louise Baltruschat sets out to express in her UK blog Whimsical Wonderland Weddings. Bree at the studio had a chance to ask her some questions about being a mom of a 2 year old and running a wedding blog:
Tell us about a day in your life:
” On a day where A is at nursery and G is at work, I get up and get us ready and drop A off at nursery. I reply to emails, log into Facebook and Twitter and [then] spend my time preparing blog features. [All this]before picking up A at lunch time and having a lunch break, before popping back onto the computer to reply to any more emails that may have cropped up. In the afternoon, I turn back into mummy-mode. If G is off work though , I may work through the afternoon, preparing my own photography for the blog or crafting for DIY tutorials too.”
What is your favorite part of being in the wedding business?I love hearing from couples, couples that are super happy and in love. I adore helping couples in their wedding planning and there is nothing better as a wedding blogger than blogging a Whimsical Wonderland Weddings reader’s wedding.
I think i am quite productive, as I know I have to have set times for work and for being a mum. Prioritizing is tricky, but to be productive it is something I must do. I like to think i am pretty organized and always try to have weekends off with A. A schedule and routine is a must for me.
You have had an extraordinary amount of success and growth in less than a three year time span. How do you keep up?
Ahh thank you. Honestly, I don’t know hehe! I have to manage my time and ensure I book time out at the weekends to keep the balance. I try to work when G is off work in the week or when A is at nursery. The lovely thing about working from home is being able to do both, working and being a stay at home mum. Organization and scheduling really is key. I love being a blogger so it is fun keeping up.
